The problem we both kept hitting

Live broadcasters increasingly lean on AI captioning to meet accessibility mandates and reach multilingual audiences. SyncWords already delivers AI subtitles to hundreds of live channels worldwide. But connecting those captions to playout infrastructure has stayed manual and fragile.

The reason is that two worlds don't speak the same language. In broadcast, subtitles travel as DVB-TTML inside MPEG-2 Transport Streams. In OTT, viewers expect them inside HLS manifests as WebVTT, or packaged into CMAF. Bridging that in a cloud-native, scalable way has been beyond standard cloud media services.

How the pipeline works

👉 Native DVB-TTML extraction
Our vxOTT Gateway consumes SyncWords' subtitle output directly from broadcast TS and repackages it into HLS with WebVTT or CMAF-Ingest with all subtitle tracks support. The pipeline is entirely cloud-native - no dedicated hardware, no extra encoding appliances.

👉 Extend as far as the workflow needs
For more demanding operations, we can extend the pipeline to full transcoding and packaging - from ingest to viewer-ready OTT stream - with high-resolution recording for archive, compliance, or production if needed.

👉 Cloud-native or on-prem
The full stack runs cloud-native or as an on-premises deployment, suitable for regulated environments and strict data-sovereignty requirements.

The result is a complete cloud-native or on-prem live localization workflow: AI captions in, viewer-ready multilingual streams out. That includes full Unicode support across multiple simultaneous languages — Arabic (RTL), Hebrew, Devanagari, CJK, Thai, Vietnamese and all European scripts — with language tags, styling and timing preserved end to end. One gateway that already handles 300+ live channels on a single 2RU server now carries AI subtitles end to end.
